You must have experiences some benefits of Spreadsheet Software.
In the hand out provided write down some of the benefits of using spreadsheet software to organize and calculate numeric values.

Activity 1
What comes to you mind when you think about the UNIT Smart Cells?
Give examples of numeric data that is daily communicated to people either on TVs, Newspapers or the mobile phones
ORGANISATION Organize and present the information below to be easily understood in your exercise book.
I have 3000 Kenya Shillings to spend in Kongowea market. I need to buy
5kgs of potatoes, 6 kgs of tomatoes, 7 kgs of onions, 4 kgs of carrots,
3 kgs of sweet potatoes, 4 kgs of ripe bananas, 4 pineapples, 3 water
melons, 5 kgs of oranges, 4 kgs of beans, 10 kgs of rice. The cost of potatoes,
tomatoes, onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, ripe bananas, oranges, beans, rice per kg is
110/=, 70/=, 80/=, 45/=, 65/=, 70/=, 80/=, 95/= and 165/= respectively.
1 pineapple is 170/= and 1 water melon is 140/=.
INFORMATION: How much is to be spent is total?
DECISION: is the money I have enough YES Å¡/ NO Å¡
: If NO how much money do I need to add?

Our Stars-CT Year 7
- I like this class because Mr. Gioko explains in detail about what we have to do and guides us whenever we are stuck.
- I like this class because the taks that we do are very interesting and helps me learn more things.
- I loved how the teacher showed the work with the example activities.
- I liked Mr. Gioko because he is funny and made you laugh and he is a genius.
- I liked what I did.
- I like the allowance of laptops in the room.
- I like some of the activities that we are given
- Our class works very well together because we always help each other when we are stuck.
- Everyone was kind to each other and I liked my classmates.
- The class was filled with happiness
- Since we have started CT lessons we have done many activites. We also had a class blog where whenever we had assessments, all the instructions were written on the blog.
- The blog guided us through out and kept us on track.
- We had a lot of fun because we get to make jokes in the class.
- We had a class blog.
- We have really good communication skills.
- It’s spacious.
- Mr. Gioko was being fair, and gave us enough time for our assessments.

Wishes for our class
- I wish that we get free time after we’ve finished the work every lesson.
- I wish that we had less homework or more homework time.
- I wish that you could explain a bit more on our tasks.
- I wish we get bigger time periods for any stage.
- Sometimes we get too much homework and sometimes things (assignments) are not explained properly.
- I wish that everyone would have been quieter and focused.
- I wish that our school provided us better computers.
- Sir should explain better.
- Make sure everyone understands the task.
- Shouldn’t be too strict about time (he wants us five minutes before).
- I wish we could understand when someone is facing difficult times.
- I wish we get less assessments and more homework.
- I wish we could get released in time because we always get late for our next class.
- I have no wishes because I am satisfied with my class.

- I wish that we could have better computers provided by the school because these are slow and the software is very old.
- What I hated was Not enough time to do each task and If people missed you will not give us time to recover.

- The bad thing is that it is hard to understand the task properly and perfectly.
- In C.T class we could have experienced different tricks and activities on the computer.
